Chancel Choir

Rehearsals: Wednesdays from 7:00-9:00 p.m.

The making of Choral Music to adorn the liturgy has long been one of the chief expressions of Christian praise; the Choir exists to lead the people's singing, lead the liturgy, and sing the proper parts of the mass assigned for any given day.  The supporting of robust choirs has long been a practice among Lutherans, and at SPR, we are proud to carry that tradition forward.

Involvement in the Parish's Chancel Choir is a commitment of time and energy - it is well worth it.  The sense of community built by working towards a common purpose is one of the chief ways that we are able to join together and offer to God and God's people the gift of music.  From African American Spirituals to J. S. Bach, we seek to use a variety of music and genres, both contemporary and historic, to lead the people's praise.

Singers of all abilities are welcome, and even if you have not sung in a choir before, you are invited to join us; we promise to help you learn and will do our very best to make Choir a rewarding and enriching experience.  We rehearse every Wednesday Evening from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m., and sing most Sundays and on all Festival Days.  High School aged youth and up are encouraged to join us.  Interested in joining?  We'd love to talk to you!  You can e-mail the Cantor, by clicking here.

Wings of Grace Handbell Ensemble

Wednesdays, 5:50-6:50 p.m.

The Wings of Grace Handbell Ensemble is the adult bell choir of St. Paul-Reformation.  We gather on Wednesdays and perform on the first Sunday of the month (generally) at 10:30 a.m.  No experience required...and bells are a great way to learn to read music.  Seriously, this is for you...want to get started?  E-mail Cantor Kalle Ackerman by clicking here.

Kantorei

First and Third Tuesdays

beginning Sept. 21

The Kantorei is a new ensemble at St. Paul-Reformation that will provide music for special liturgies and compline on Festival Days.  Using the order of Compline from Evangelical Lutheran Worship, this work is simple, and the time commitment is low.  Kantorei meets on  the first and third Tuesday of the month from 7-8 p.m., starting September 20.  We seek talented choral musicians who are good sight readers, and you need not be a member of St. Paul-Reformation to participate.  You can e-mail Cantor Kalle Akkerman by clicking here and we'll get you all set up!

Kantorei's schedule is:
